Foxton Literary and Debating Society.
The above named Society met last night at Mr Stewart’s residence, when the leading topics of the month were discussed. Mr Hunter occupied the chair. In the course of the evening, Mr Chamberlain's Fiscal proposals were referred to, and a somewhat lively argument ensued. The following members took part in the proceedings;—Messrs Stewart, Moore, Barnard, Hunter and WankIjn. The next meeting of the Society \held on Wednesday, the 15th inst., and will take the form of a poetical evening,
