Sensational Bank Robbery.

SEVENTEEN HUNDRED POUNDS STOLEN. . Three masked men entered the Box Hill branch of the English and Scottish Bank, Melbourne. They bound and gagged the only clerk on the premises, blew open the safe, and secured £lf 00 in gold. The men then escaped in the manager’s buggy. The robbers secured J6BOO in gold and £4OO in silver, the rest being in notes. The clerk, Mr Serpell, was tied up for a couple of hours The robbers occupied an hour and a half getting their booty. They •brought a number of railway carriage cushions from the station opposite the bank in order to deaden the sound of the explosion. Serpell with difficulty at last got one hand free, released himself, and gave the alarm.
