Savieri Dramatic Company.

Lovers of the drama will be glad to learn that the Savieri Dramatic Co. intend to visit Poxton for a two days’ season on Saturday and Monday next, the 16th and 18th. It was their* original intention to make the visit at a later date, but in consequence of a re-arrangement of dates necessary to meet arrangements for an Auckland season, the season is to be opened here at rather short notice. Mr Peter Savieri is familiar as the moat memorable member and comedian of the popular Company, the strongest dramatic combination that has so far visited Foxfcon, and a number of names popularised with the Company appear ia tbe personnel of the new organisation. Mr Savieri has secured as his leading lady, Miss Julia Bellerton Glover, an English actress, offspring from the theatrically historical families of the Bellertons and Glovers, and possessing a great reputation in England which has been ex ended in New Zealand during the lust few months; there are a number of well-known names in the Company. Mr Edgar Collins is in charge of the orchestrial items, and the scenery is from tbe brush of Mr E. Leadie Williams, and W. Diamond. The Company stages what is accepted as the greatest of Irish pieces, “ The Colleen Bawn,” on Saturday, and . follow by “ The Guv’nor ’’ on Mon- * day night. The season should be a * success. The box plan is now open at Mr Alf. Fraser’s, where ladies are granted a special concession in JVsjpuring front seats at 2s.
