SUDDEN DEATH. Henry Hawkins, the foreman machinist of Cleave and Company, printers, Auckland, was found dead outside the machine room at 8 this Morning. Apparently he had broken a blood vessel as he was lying on his face in a pool of blood. SUNDAY .TRAMS. The advent of the Sunday tram service to Onehunga is followed by complaints of drunkehess there. The whole of the hotels in the Manakau district, on Sunday, closed absolutely, notwithstanding that about six thousand people arrived byitbii cars during the day; TREASURE SEEKERS. The American expedition, which Was searching for hidden treasure in the South Pacific islands, arrived at Papeete; last month, and, after searching some twentyislands uniuccessfully, the leader of the expedition, who had prpfessed to have a definite knowledge of the island on which valuable treaeure waaeeoreted many- years ago, ' confessed that he did not know the locality. The expedition ha» been abandoned and the vessel seld. DISAPPEARED. On the last trip of the Taviuni from Auckland to Tahiti, Edward Railton, a passenger who was reported to he wealthy, was missed. It it supposed that he jumped overboard, as his manner was strange for some time previously. A MEAN BOBBERY.
The Maori carved house at the rearef the Colonial Museum was broken into on Sunday night and a number of valuable curios were stolen. An unsuccessful attempt was made to get into the museum itself through a doorway leading from the Maori House. DIVORCE COURT.
In the Wellington divorce court, yesterday, Mathew Andersen, dairy fara&vof Mangatainoka, was granted an order against his wife for restitution of conjugal rights.
