The King and Queen at Edinburgh.
The Royal visit to Scotland was inaugurated by a great welcome and a picturesque reception being accorded to the King and Queen on arrival at Waverley Station, Edinburgh. The Duke and Duchess of Bucoleuoh Lord Roaeberry, Lord Balfour of Burleigh and most of the great Scottish officers of the State took part, The Lord Provost tendered the silver keys of the city, which the King returned. Their Majesties drove to Dalkeith jallaoe. Over half a million pounds worth of gold plate was transferred from HolvroodTftlkce preparatory to their' Majesties’ visit. [Dalkeith Palace is a seat of the Duke of Bueoeleuoh’a, and is a Grecian atructure built in 1700. it lies about six miles S.B. of Edinburgh. Their Majesties objected to reside at Holyrood Palace the memorial el old Scottish monarchy as it was considered insanitary.]
