Manawatu County Council.
The monthly meeting of the Manawatu County Council, was held on Wednesday. Present—Crs J. G. Wilson (Chairman), Robinson, Clark, Masters, Carter and Kendall. Leave of absence was granted Cc Hammond. CORRESPONDENCE, The Tramway Manager withdrew his resignation with the Council's consent. From W. Walden, offering £6 10s (or the flax growing on Motoa road. Mr Saunders offered £6.—Mr Walden's tender was accepted. The Tramway Manager reported that the receipts last month were £2lO 4s Bd, and the expenditure £1.73 13s sd. SPECIAL BATE. A special rate of |d in the £ was struck td provide interest on the j loan to be spent in the construction | of Mangaone road; and a rate of l-30d in the £ to provide interest on the Idan for the construction of Kari Kari road. TBNDEBS. The tender of R. L. Henderson Was accepted for the delivery of metal on the Bulls-Sandon road at 2s 8d per yard; and that of J. , Shapleski at £BO 10s for the delivery of metal on Kakiriki road.Times.
