Food Supplies.

A Royal Commission has been appointed to inquire into the conditions affecting the imnorfcation of food and raw material during time df war, audio ascertain the amount of reserves of such supplies within the country at a given period. The Commission will also consider whether it is desirable to adopt measures besides the maintenance of a strong fleet whereby supplies may be better secured and violent fluctuations of prices avoided. Lord Balfour of Burleigh is chair* man of the Commission, and included in : its .members are The Prince of Wales; Vice-Admiral Sit Gerard Noel; prominent members of both sides of politics in the House of Lords and Hdiise of Commons j Professor T, E. Holland, Professor of International Law, Oxford; representatives of the Board df Trade and Home Office, Glyn Mills and Co.; Donald Currie and Co.Lloyds ; and the Liverpool -Corn Association.
