The Soudan.
Lord. Cromer, after visiting Gondokoro, has returned to Khartoum, delighted with the evidence he has seen of the Soudan’s progress, though the country still needs railways, population and more British officials. He regards a Suakim-Berber railway as an essential factor to render the Soudan self-supporting. The work would cost two and a half millions.
