N.Z Horses.

The Imperial Government is so satisfied with the manner in which New Zealand horses stood the severe test of the South African climate that it has determined to continue the purchase of such fine stock for use in the Transvaal and Orange River Colonies. Officers from the Imperial army will shortly arrive in New Zealand in connection with the inspection and probable purchase of the remount. Respecting New Zealand horses, the Imperial Government has stated that they are better than those exported from any other country, and that our animals can be landed in South Africa at a price cheaper than that paid for English horses before shipment. The English Government has further -stated that the cobs purchased from Mr J. Stevens, of Palmerston, after inspection by the Imperial officers, were far superior to anything sent away' from this colony. It is not anticipated that there will he any difficulty in buying large consignments.
