Volcanic Activity.
The volcanoes in Guatemala, one of the States of Central America, ara in a state of activity. Serious earthquakes have occurred on the island of St. Vincent, accompanied by violent detonations. The area on Martinique of comparative safety from eruptions of Mount Pelee has also been much lessened. The earthquakes at Guatemala destroyed the coffee zone, causing enormous losses.
