Foxton Athletic Club.

A general meeting of the above Club was held last night at the Manawatu Hotel, the President (Mr Hennessy), in the chair.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mr Noonan then moved that the resolution re trophies being held over until next year be rescinded, which was seconded by Mr Walsh, and carried. Correspondence was read from R. Armit, enclosing amount received tor nominations.

From Mr Beckford, Masterton, asking for permission to have same space on ground for side show. It was rethat the request be granted, on payment of £l. The secretary of the Nelson Athletic Club wrote asking for copy of sports programme)

From Mr 3sending donationThe secretary Foxton Brass Band sent a tender 'for playing at sports* which was accepted, the programme of music to be submitted. Proposed by Mr Noonan, seconded by Mr Perreau that the secretary get books printed. Carried. It was resolved that a three-mile bike race be added to the programme, and that Mr W. Gray’s trophy (a ladies bracelet), be given as first prize, and Mr A. Fraser’s clock as a second prize. Nomination 2s, acceptance zs. The offers of Messrs Shadbolt and Perreau to supply horses for boundary riders was accepted with thanksThe secretary was instructed to interview Mr Laing re trophy. Proposed by Mr Westwood* seconded by Mr Perreau and carried, that the secretary have power to appoint two gate keepers and ticket-collectors-Votes of thanks to the chairman and to Mr Levett for usd of room terminated the meeting.
