The Mining Dispute America.
The convention of minora for the discussion of the terms of President Roosevelt’s proposal to refer the coalmining dispute to a Commission, is being held at Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania. '
Mr Mitchell, president of the Miners’ Union, was warmly cheered at the Miners’ Convention on advising the men to extend the hand of friendship to their opponents, and co-operate with them in establishing a permanent peace on the coalfields.
President Roosevelt’s proposals, he added, were likely to secure more just terms than would be obtainable by the continuance of the conflict. The formal decision of the Convention has been postponed.
