The Next Dance.

On the xoth October we learn that Mrs W- Cook has arranged a capital finals for her series of winter dances. In the early part ot the evening the juveniles will be given the hall and during their occupation of the floor fancy dances will be given, among them being the gavotte, a dance very seldom seen here, and it is a very pretty dance; a minuet, the old stately English dance, which it is a pity is not more often seen at our adult dances. Those taking part in these two dances will be attired in character, and the dances will be further displayed by the use of coloured lights and the effect should be excellent. Other dances will be the Polish jig, which will be taken part in by twelve little girls, and four children will give the Irish jig, and two little girls will dance the sailor’s hornpipe. All children will be in fancy dress. At half-past nine the adults who may receive invitations will be able to enjoy the pleasure of a good floor and excellent music, as a trio, of cornet, piano, and violin, will be provided,
