MORRIS-TUBE COMPETITION
Last night a Morris-tube competition took place at the Drill shed.
The match was between teams representing the Married v. Single, the highest scorer in the match to receive a trophy. Owing to the absence of Private Turner, Private A. Dudson took hi* place. SingTjE.—Pri. Clarke, 20; Pri. Saunders, 19; Pri. E. Dudson, 14; Pri. Bawe, 14; Pri. Hirst, 14 ; Pri. A. Dudson, 4. Total, 85. The majority for the married men Wifts thus 28, who won the match. The two highest scorers, Bugler Newth and Private Collins, having both tied with 21 each, fired off again, and tied with a score of 28 each, out of a possible 25., It was then decided to have a three-shot match, Private Collins scoring 13, and his opponent 11. Much interest was taken in the competition. A private of the corps afterwards challenged all and sundry to fire a match, which was not long before one of the number present took it up, but the result ended in a tie.
