Bible in Schools.

The scrutineers for the voting papers in connection with the plebiscite that has just been taken on the question of Bible in schools in. Palmerston North met the other night says the Manawatu Times, and went over the returned. Out of4B u.Tns, so that white the returns are Hot as yet complete, they show that the people of Palmerston North are overwhelmingly in favour of the restoration of the Bibie to the public schools. The figures are as follow: la favour of the Bible in school, 1928; against, 215; informal, 15; refused to vote, 125; houses from which no papers were returned, 45. It will be thus seen that out of 2153 votes cast, about 90 per cent are in favour of the restoration of the Bible to the public schools. The vote could hardly have been more emphatic on the subject. The following gentlemen acted as scrutineers : Revs. 0. C. Harper and I Jolly, and Messrs Kenneth Wilson, W. Rutherford, G. H. Bennett, and 0. N. Clausen.
