AWAHOU v. ALL COMERS. The above match was played on the racecourse yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a substantial win for the All Comers by 16 points to_ nil, four tries being scored, two of which ware converted. The All Comers being decidedly the heavier team of the two, especially in the forwards, had rather the best of the game. In spite of this, the Awahau team during the first spell played a good defensive game, and though playing against _a strong wind, closed the first spell with one try to their loss. In the . second spell the Awahou team, being by this time nearly dead beat, suffered badly, three more tiies being scored against them; The combination shown by the All Comers, especially the backs, Was the result of good passing rushes, which, overpowered their opponents. For . the Ail Comers all played well, especially Proctor, B. Dunn and Rand in the forwards, and Hughes, McDonald and Coley in the backs. For the Awahou team Hooker and Liddell were always on the ball, but were backed up by weak backs, who, through being out of form, did a fair share of work. Mr E, E. Smith made a very efficient referee.
