The steamer Tanglian h&a returned from Kerguelen Land, where she landed a number of dogs, SGO tons of coal and 8000 toxv'| or stores for the German A»»*w*tc Expedition. ■J- " 'i Vv .. The weather was boisterous and foggy, but no ice was met with. Several good lakes were seen inland. Fish was‘ scarce, but rabbits, the descendants of a few landed by the 1874 expedition, swarm. The German flag was hoisted over an old hut left by whalers. Herr Euzensperger and Dr,Lukden, members of the Gauss expedition, and a servant, remained to await the Gauss, which had not, as expected, arrived. Four Chinese members of the Tanglian’a crew had died of berri-berri fever.
