As China was the offender, the Ministers decided that the Chinese Peace Envoys should call at the Spanish Legation to receive the allies' Joint Note.
Prince Ching brought his credentials with Li Hung Chang's, and assured the Ministers of the Emperor's speedy reply, the Court feeling that China's exclusive need was peace and prosperity.
Li HungChaug sent a letter apologising for absence owing; to illness.
ARREST OF OFFICIALS.
The " Standard's " Shanghaj correspondent states that the Chinese have arrested Prince Tuna and Prince Chaung on the borders of Shan-si acd Shen-si provinces,
Yubshien has been ordered to Singau-fu, it is believed with a view to his execution.
It is inferred that China is preparing to concede the allies' demands for the punishment of the anti-foreign leaders.
