King Humbert's Assassin.
Angelo Bressi, the assassin of King Humbert, has admitted that he was designated by the Anarchists as the person to commit the crime. Two Anarchists named Quintavelli and Lana, who accompanied Bressi to Europe from Paterson, New Jersey, have been arrested. On the arrival of the new King — hitherto Prince of Naples at Monza, where his father was stricken down, a fervent outburst of loyalty was made by the public. Two Anarchists in the crowd were heard to shout "Viva TAnarchi," and were arrested. It now transpires that an attempt was made on King Humbert's life on July 19th, but the fact was suppressed.
