The Kinematograph.
' Mr A. H. Whitehouse, who is known as the pioneer exhibitor of Edison's inventions, and who it will be remembered brought to our town the Kinetoscope (Edison's first device), and showed in the building now occupied by Mr Langley, baker, a set of moving pictures in miniature size. He will appear again at the Public Hall on Saturday evening next with a most up to date kinematograph apparatus, and claiming the special feature of showing the first and only scenes taken in New Zealand, viz., ' Opening of the Auckland Exhibition,' ' Uhlan winning the Cup at Ellerslie,' a 'Regatta Scene' and a 'Maori Canoe Hurdle Race at Waikato,' etc., together with a set of stirring war scenes and naval review, interspersed with selections on the loud duplex concert phonograph. The company have done good business and received splendid press notices wherever they have appeared.
