NOMONATION OF COUNCIL LORS.
Yesterday, at noon, was the date and time fixed by the Returning Officer for the nominations of candidates for the office of councillor to be handed in. His invitation met with a very generous response, as many as six candidates having been nominated for the three vacancies. It will be noticed that none of the retiring councillors offer themselves for re-election, and of the candidates three have previous been on the Town Board or Council. The candidates nominators are as follows : — Henry Aldridge by J. W. Walsh and A. Fraser; Charles T. Austin, by A. Fraser and W. Purcell ; S. H. Baker, by G. Nye and C. England; W. Hamer, by A. Fraser andj. W. Walsh ; F. E. Jenks, by W. B. Rhodes and W. Purcell ; and W. Woollass, by S. M. Baker and A. Osborne.
