Stock Report.

Mr Matthew Henry reports :— "-*"'' Sales for the ve^t. were conducted, at Pahiatua, PaltiierSton and a claar* ing sale at Mr Beale's place near Oroua Bridge. At Pahiatua and Palmerston entries were below the aver* age. At the former very little business was transacted, while at the latter the whole of the entry changed hands. Mr Beale's clearing sale was well attended and for most of the stock bidding was brisk, sheep being the only exception. The bulk of these, although good in quality were low in condition, and consequently did not cemmand the values they otherwise would, but taking into consideration the depressed state of the mutton market the sale was a satisfactory one. Quotations as follows : — Cattle— 3yr steers, £3 3s; ißmos 9teers, £2 7s; yearlings, £1 4s; dairy cows ranging from "<c&f 5s to £6 ; springing heifers, £$ s&i Sheep— Crossbred wethers, 10s 6d to.ios gd; Lincoln wethers, us 3d; ewes, in lamb, Bs. j Mr Beale's sale— Cattle— 3yr bul« locks, £3 15s; Polled Angus yearlings, 28s; ißmos steers, 355 ; cows in calf, £3 15s to £4 10s; heifers in calf (small), £2 is to £3 16s. Sheep—Fat I wethers, 13s ; 4 and 6-tobth wetbera, 10s iod, us, and 1183 d; 2-th wethers, 8s gd, 9s, and 9s id. Horses— Suffolk Punch mares, £15 to £25; draught mares, £15 10s to £2s ; geldings, £17 10s to £27 10s ; 2-yr filly, £21 ; 3-yv filly, £27 ; yearlings, £3 53 to £7.
