Excursions to Ocean Beach.

The following letter was read at the last meeting of the Borough Council : — With reference to the interview I had with the members of the Foxton Borough Council, I am directed by the General Manager N.Z. Railways to state that the Department is prepared to give a trial to the proposed Wednesday afternoon excursions to Foxton, but the railway fare will be 2s per head second class return from Palmerston, instead of is 6d as suggested by the Council. I am also advised that commencing on ist December, when other alterations in the time-table come into operation, the morning train from Foxton on Mondays will start at 8 a-m. instead of 9 a.m. H. Buxton, District Traffic Manager.
