A Jockey's Appetite.
" THREE GOOD MEALS A DAY.
(From Quiz and the Lantern.)
"And so you always eat three good meals a day 7" said a reporter fron Quiz and the Lantern to W. Murdock, one of the best-known professional riders on the Australian turf, and who is now engaged by Mr Malien at his stables, Glene'g, South Australia. "Yes, I do, and someiimes a supper as well, and never feel any inconvenience," replied Mr Murdock. "But let me give you my experiences, you will then understand why my enviable appetite is remarkable : — "For nearly two yearg I suffered from a serious derangement of the digestive organs. I cou'd not retain a meal on my Btomach. Directly I ate anything I was seized with violent attacks of vomiting, and the pain I suffered was beyond description. I took medical advice, but did not receive any relief from it. I was at that time bo ill that I had to leave my employment and relinquish work altogether. I was recommended by my employer, Mr W. Malien, to take Dr \\ itliama' Pink Pills, and he bought some for me. Directly I started to take them I found relief. I took in all about eight boxes, not more ; but I have not taken any for over four months, as I am completely cured. During my illness I fell off in weight from 9st to 7st 61b. I last tamed the scale at Bat 3b, and I dare say I am heavier now, as it is some time since I was weighed. I was so reduced and looked so bad that my wife and many others thought I was dying of consumption. I never felt better in my. life than I do now. I always eat my three good meals a day and sometimes a supper and never feel any inconvenience. Last winter I was literally at death's door, and I do not think I would have lived through this winter if I had not taken Dr Williams' Pink Pills. I am in full employment again, and rode right through the last May meeting, and would have ridden at the Accession meeting and at the next Port Adelaide meeting but for an injury to my shoulder. I regard Dr Williams' Pink PiUs as an inestimable blessing to mankind. — W. Murdock, MaVen's slabtes, Glene^g, South Australia. 22nd June. 1898."
