Rich Gold Find. ♦_ ■ TWENTY-THREE OUNCES TO THE TON. There is great excitement at Bathurst over a rich gold find in Cham bers Creek. The gold exposed on the reef is two feet wide and re aembles a jeweller's ebop. The stone is literally hanging together with gold. It is said to be on the same line of the reef where Holterman's famous £20,000 nugget was found. The assays show 28oz. to the ton. Wool Sales. » At the first wool sale of the season held at Christchurch on Thursday morning there was a good attendance of buyers, but only 970 bales were offered, and of this 523 were sold. Most of the wool was dirty, owing to the high winds in the spring.
