A Press Bazaar.

A Press Bazaar on a scale alto wether remarkable, in aid of the London Hospital, was organized by Mrs Spender, wife of the owner of t.ha Westminster Gazette, and it took place last Tuesday and Wednes day, in the Hotel Cecil. It proved i phenomenal success, and realised a clear net profit, of £10,000 for the fund. Each of the principal London newspapers had a stall of its own, and the stallholders were among the fairest and most popular 'eaders of London society. It would take a whole mail budget to describe the brilliancy of the soene, the splendour of the feminine toilettes, the beauty and variety of the articles offered for sale. Perhaps the moat peculiar and felicitous idea was that of issuing an hourly newspaper, which had " 200 editors and only one compositor," and which was composed and printed on the spot by I a Linotype machine. To give an idea of its style, I may mention that Sir Henry Irving acted as its dramatic critic, and contributed a most diverting burlepque panegyric on a recital given by himself. Royalties were there in numbers ; indeed, one particular Royal Highness could not get in at all >wing to the crush, and sat on the stairs leaning upon his umbrella md using fearfully strong language. The Prince and Princess of Wales, as usual, were gracious and agreeable r o everybody, and as I have said, he financial result was a splendid riumph. — Post.
