♦ . . Melbourne. Latest news from the fire zone fltates that a more favourable wind hai veered round. Thirty families were made homeless by Foster's Corsby Village Settlement being burned out. Hobart. The whole country in the Port Cygnet district is ablaze. Numbers of homes have been destroyed, and several lives reported lost. Two men are reported at Sand fly. The fires are spreading with alarming rapidity in all directions, and people are fleeing for their lives.
