Carol Service.

ALL SAINTS CHUBCH.

Last evening a Carol service was given at All Saints Church at halfpast seven. After the usual short evening prayers the following carols were sung by the cboir boys with the addition of twenty little girls, and assisted by the choir : — 1. " A virgin most pure." 2. " Carol sweetly carol." 8. " Good nows from the Hills of Judea." 4. " See amid the winter snow." 5. " The first Noel." 6. " When Christ was born of Miry free." In the carol " See amid the winter snow " Masters Shadbolt, E. and H. Collins, and A. Cook sang as a solo a verse eaoh. The carol "In the fields" was sung by the choir only. The singing wa.? very good and the congregation had a great treat. The children were instructed by Mrs England, and did oredit to their instructress. Mrs England deserves the best thanks of the parents for the interest she has taken in the musical education of their children. Mr England presided at the organ in his usual style and. helped to secure the results attained. At tbe olose of the servioe the Rev. R. Young publicly thanked Mrs England for her interest in church matters. The congregation was not so large as it might bave been, so that the offertory which is to be devoted to the purchase of choir books was not so much as it should have been.
