Egypt.
The Government has arranged to retard the evacuation of Eassala, which it is intended to cede to Egypt, with the view of assisting the British military operations in the Soudan in the autumn. An Egyptian patrol defeated a force of Dervishes at Salamat, a watering place on the route across the Argab Teshagoa desert, which occupies the angle in the course of the -Mile between the third and Fourth Cataraots. Fifteen Dervishes were killed, and the Egyptian patrol lost eight men, whilst Captain Peyton was severely wounded.
