Reports from Orete state that the Moslemß have burned Kalivia, near Heraklion, and killed fourteen of the inhabitants. Great unrest prevails on the island, and reprisals are feared. Admiral Harris, reporting upon the position in Orete, states that the Greek emissaries form the ohief obstacle against the restoration of peace and good government in the island.
