Further severe fighting- has taken place in B echuanaland. A body of volunteers from Vryburg, operating against the Taungo reserve natives, who recently rose in revolt under the Chief Galishive, attacked the rebels at Langeburg range in Western Becbuanaland. The rebels, led by Galishive, fought bravely, but they lost heavily. On the side of the volunteers Lieutenant Harris was killed and six troopers wounded. It is reported from Delagoa Bay fchat 25,000 natives in Gazaland have broken oufc in revolt 40 miles from the Transvaal border.
The Portuguese are mobilising a force to quell the rebellion. The Portuguese at Delagoa Bay have landed 1500 men, besides artillery and war material. The Cape Argus states that the British Squadron will occupy Inyack Island, at tho entrance to Delagoa Bay. President Steyn,' of the Orange Free State, bas ignored a telegram published in the London papers to the effect that the State was hostile to Britain. He says the telegram is beneath his notice.
