Ail Saints ', Foxton.

Last Saturday the ladie* of the congregation of All Saints' Church decorated the building with festoons of flowers and evergreens, in oelebra> tion of the festival of " All Saints' Day," held on Sunday. The Bey. R. Young conducted both services on Sunday, morning and evening, and the Church was crowded on both occasions. The services were fall choral. In the afternoon Mr Young held a Children's Service, which was likewise well attended. Yesterday evening the ceremony of installing the Rev B. Young into the parochial district of Foxton was performed, and to the crowded audience it was felt to be a beautiful, I impressive, and helpful function, as it not only made evident to them the immense responsibility accepted by the new Vicar, but also showed how intimately the congregation are concerned with the clergy in the execu* tion of that holy work undertaken by them. The Church was most tastefully decorated, and the whole floor space was crowded, An imposing prooes* uion was formed outside the Churob to escort the Bishop, and marched up the Church in the following order: -The two churchwardens, the members of the vestry, choristers in surplices, the new Vicar, the lUahop, preceded by a priest bearing ihe crozier, and followed by the visiting clergy. The processional hymn was sung by the choir. The Bishop took hia place at the altar, the clergy taking oppositions outside the rails. Evening service to the end of the Third Collect was intoned, and Psalms 84 and 92 were aung. The Rev. Mr Hunt, of Palmerston, intoned the Prayers, the Be?. Mr Karee read the First Lesson, and the Ray. .7. Mo William the Second I.ePKon. The Bishop then took a seat before the Holy Table, and Mr W. 8. Stewart, clergyman's churchwarden, u resented the Bey. The Bishop then addressed the Vicar, and pnblioly examined him . s to his willingness to undertake he duties of the position, to which the reply was always given, " I will do so, the Lord being my helper." At the conclusion of the examination, the Bishop stood up and addressed the congregation, during which he said—" I chargo and c*> hort you, brethren, and especially the churchwardens and other officers of this Church, to pray continually for this your Minister, who is Bet over you in the Lord, and to help him forward in all the duties of his' holy calling Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Ohrist." The Vicar then read the " declaration of asaeut," the "declaration of Canon cal obedience/ and the " declaration of submission to the auiho itiesof the General Synod," after which the Bishop handed the Vicar the License. Further prayers followed and then Bis Lordship delivered a most impressive extempore address to the Vicar and the congregation,.
