RESOLUTIONS.

The following resolution* were passed : — Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by O Westwood, That the tender of James Andrew be accepted for No. 1 Contract, £1 18*. and No- 2 Contract for 2a 5d per yard in the Recreation Reserve. Proposed by Cr Westwood, anoonded by the Mayor, That the Trustees of the Methodist Church be allowed to put in two crossings in front of the church property. Proposed by Cr We3twood, seconded by Cr Walsb, That the clerk make enquiries in reference to the account presented by B Spelman for destroying and burying horses, and to report at next meeting. Proposed by fir Border, eeconded by Or Coley, That the request for a verandah to Mr o^borne's shop be granted as applied for. Proposed by the Mayor, eeoonded by Cr Westwood, That; tenders be called for metalling the lady's mile also the Cemetery road. Tenders to be in by the 20 h at 11 a.m. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Border, That 10 per cent be added to all outstanding rates aa soon as the six months from the date of their becoming doe has expired, the 16th day of December, and that all arrears of rates be sued for without further notice. (Not carried.) Proposed by Or Westwood, Beoonded by Or Walsh, That the usual honorarium of £10 be paid to the Mayor. Propoaed by Cr Osborne, seconded by Or Walsh, That tenders be called for metalling No. 2 Line as allocated. Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr Border, That tenders be called for forming and metalling 16 chains Norbiton road. Tenders to be in by the 20th at 11 a.m. Proposed by Cr Osborne, seconded by Or Coley, That the roads in the Borough be thrown open for public grazing so as to avoid accumulation of grass and thus avoid danger from fire during summer. Roads to be free from 6 a.m. till 6 p.m. until Ist January, 1897. Proposed by Cr Heoneßsy, seconded by Or Osborne, Tbat this Council regrets the Rating Act prevents this Council granting Mrs Deßidder's request. Proposed by Or Hennessy, seconded by Cr Coley, That a clause be inserted in the specifications that the cemetery road be done first. Proposed by Cr Westwood, se conded by Cr Walsb, That Mrs Bismarck be informed in reply to her letter that the use of the road referred to be granted during the pleasure of this Council at the rate of 5s per annum, provided that the back rent amounting to 10a be paid at once and 6s be paid in advanoe. As an amendment it was proposed by Cr Hennessy, seconded by Cr Osborne, That Mrs Bismarck's ap plication for road adjoining her property be held over till next meeting. (Carried.)
