REPORT. The Report was a very full one and in this issue we can only give a precis. During the year 16 meetings were held and the attendances were as follows : Thynne 5, Little 18, Rhodes 12, Stansell 9, Walsh 7, Westwood 10 and Ray 13. The teaching staff at present is composed of Mr W. S. Stewart, 8.8., Head Teacher ; Miss Lucy O'Brien, E 8, Assistant Teacher; Mr W. E. Herd, Pupil Teacher ; Mr Henry Lyall, Pupil Teacher; Miss Annie Silby, Junior Assistant Teacher ; Miss Winnie Ray, Cadet and Master Ambrose Purcell, Cadet. The Committee consider that the teaching staff are deserving of the confidence of all concerned and that if the parents will see that the children are regular in their attendance good results must follow. There has been an increase of nine scholars for the year. The highest average attendance ever attained in this school was that for the March quarter of the present year. Speaking of Mr Mey's visit the report says:— His visit to Foxton has not proved fruitless as Indian club practice and other physical exercises are now being taught in the school. Mr Rhodes, a member of the Committee, has shown his interest in the physical development of the children by supplying them with horizontal bars, and Messrs Stansell and Westwood, two other members of the Committee have undertaken to supply all materials for Roman Rings to be erected in the schools ground. The Coin*, mittee consider the physical instruction of children to be of great and lasting importance, and trust that ere long a determined effort may be made by tne residents of Foxton to erect in the school ground a gymnasium with all modern appliances. The Committee put in foroe The School Attendance Act, 1894, during the latter part of last year and four parents were fined for neglecting to send their children regularly to school. The action of the Committee has borne fruit in the increased attendances at school. The School Fund Accounts have been audited by Mr Thos. F. Gibson, the auditor of them appointed by the Education Board and are presented wi'h this report. Th » grants from the Education Board amount to £l 7s 6d more than last year and if the atteadance ke3p3 up to the presmt uverage there will te a still further increase during the \ rasent financial year. Two cohorts pro. tod £10 2s sd.
.The Committee desire to express to Mr Thos. F. Gibson their acknowledgement of his kindness in gratuitously auditing the School Fund Accounts.
