Householder's Meeting.
The annual meeting of householders in the Foxton School District was held at the schoolbouse, Foxtoo, last night at 8 o'clock. Mr Thynne, chairman of the Committee, too 1 * the chair, and read the report and balance-sheet, which on the motion of Mr Weatwood and seconded by Mr HWrie were adopted. Mr West wood also proposed, and Mr Alf Fraser seconded, That a vote of thanks be given to Jlr Ray for his gratuitous services as dark for the past year. This was carried tinafiimously. Mr Bay acknowledged his thanks. The Chairman then called for nominations and received the following !— P. Hennessy *B. S. ThynDe, T. Westwood, J. E. Stansell, W. ] B. Rhodes, B. Spelnian, j, T. Bay, W. T. Little and P. Dudson. Messrs McClosky and Alf Fraser were elected scrutineei'3. The ballot resulted in the following votes being recorded i — Tbynne 12, Hennessy 11, Stansell 11, Bay 11, Rhodes 10, Dudson 8, Westwood 8, Little 7 and Spelman 6. The first seven were declared duly elected. Mr Thynne, in returning thanks for his position at the poll, remarked on^ the pleasant relations that had existed between the Committee, teachers, and parents, and which he hoped would long continue. He referred to the Act relating to compulsory attendance at school, and received the meeting's approval on the action taken, and which he said would be continued. This concluded the business of the meeting.
