» . ■■ The new appointment! are as follows :— The Hon. J. Carroll takes Cabinet rank with the portfolio of Commiisioner of Stamps. Mr Hall- Jones, of Timaru, takes the portfolio of Minister of Justice. The Hon. W. C. Walker takes a seat in the Cabinet without portfolio, and Mr T. Thompson, of Auckland, has been offered a similar position in the Lower House. The arrangement of portfolio! is temporary, being subject to readjustment at a future meeting of the Cabinet. The question of the AttorneyGeneralship nan been held over for farther consideration.
