Afterwards went to Paiaka and there seized Lochnagar. Bailiff told Gay to let Baker know at once. John GiUespie deposed that Rule 16 makes mileage chargeable to address. All plaints bore Kerera as Baker's address in the first instance. On 31st July Baker inquired if any warrants had come for claims he had confessed of Westwood or from Palmerston. Informed him of the two warrants. Asked to have ' them held over for a day or two, {referred to Utters entered.) Searched for Baker and when he did not tarn up with the money be formed conclusion , he was keeping out of the way. On 31st July went with Westwood and seized Loohnagar. Left horse in charge of Gay. Heard Baker had been to Herein and then sent Walls for the horse. Took all steps to save expense, and the delay was Baker's own doing. The usual charge for mileage to Eereru is lOj. The charge of 6i to Carnarvon was the same as Baker had made in a summons he had made out a short time back. The case was adjourned to the usual Court day.
