Murad Bey, on the charge of assisting the Young Turkey Party, has been sentenced to death, and hii property ordered to be confiscated. Three of the Palace officers who were suspected of conspiring to dethrone the Sultan have been banished from the country. The trial of Murad B«y on the charge of assisting the Young Turkey Party took place in his absence, he having fled the country before his arrest could be effected. Formal sentence of death was passed, and his property ordered to be confiscated. It has now been ascertained that Murad ia in Cairo, where he is conducting a newspaper crusade against the rule of the Sultan, and he pre* diets the overthrow of that monarch within sis months. Dr Leyds, Secretary of State for tho Transvaal, has received an enthusiastic Welcome in Amsterdam. He said he was gratified to receive Dutch support in all matters. The prisoners at Pretoria are confined in a private house. The bail has been fixed at £10,* 000. The Boer press states that it is intended to bold a special meeting of the Volksraad to sanction Herr Eruger's visit to England. Dr Leyds declares that it ia im» probable that President Kruger will pay his proposed visit to England in connection with the Transvaal trouble.
