Mr Harnett explained that there were great complaints at Taita about the want of accommodation. At present, under the temporary transfer, liquor was being sold in an iron shed, erected on the site of the building destroyed by fire. The Committee decided to grant the application for the transfer, Mr Harnett being instructed to attend to the completion of the new premises with, as little delay as possible. Mr Harnett applied to have the name of the new hotel changed from the Travellers' Best to the Taita Hotel, whicji was granted.
