Presentation to Miss O'Brian.
A farewell social was given in the schoolroom, Campbell town, last week, under the auspicies of the Wesleyan choir, to Miss O'Brian, schoolmistress, who is leaving Campbelltown, to take charge of the Foxton school. Although the weather was intensely cold about 80 persons assembled, including visitors from Sandon, Carnarvon and other parts of the district;. The locial, which took the form of % concert, was exceedingly enjoyable. A presentation was made to Miss O'Brian which had been subscribed for by the members of the Campbelltown Wesleyan Choir and which consisted oi a writing-case. Before the presentation was made, Mr Sanson, the choir master, made some remarks in which he explained that the object of the social was to farewell Mils O'Brian who had been a great help to them in many ways. She had been of great service in their choir, and she was deservedly esteemed on account of her social qualities. He also knew that she particularly kind in sickness, and it had been said of her that she was like a streak of sunshine in their homes. The Rev. W. Eeall made the presentation with a suitable speech find Mr C. Bowater responded with » few well chosen words on behalf of Miss O'Brian. — Advocate.
