The Bulgarian Government has sent a Note to the Sultan demanding an explanation of the presence of a Turkish army on the Macedonian frontier, and threatening that answering measures will be adoptid by mobilishing troopi at Philip* popolis and Rhodope. A conference of French and German bimetallists is being held at Berlin.
The proceedings are largely influ* enced by Mr Balfour'a return to power in England, he being a con* firmed bimetallism
A resolution has been pasted in favour of international bimetallism at a fixed ratio.
News has been received from Madagascar that the French troops have defeated several tkoumod Hovas at Tsarasoatra.
