Political Notes.
A member of the House during the Financial debate drew the following picture of the Premier — " I do not know what sort of a man he is at home 1 I should say he is otle of those men who would Want to peel the potatoes, clean the knives, turn the mangle, and peg out the clothes. He wants to be captain, also cook." This appears to need a little further explanation. An honourable member was complaining of the Government and asserted " they packed meetings, concoct opposition resolutions, foment disorder, and resort to all those contemptible tricks and dodges so well known to every member of this House.' 1 Bather rough, taken as said, on every member of the House. Politicians do say funny things and at times give their best friends away. A member mentioned that some one had published a libel agaiurft him, and the following day he received three or four solicitors' letters offering to take the case in hand. Business must have been slack with the Devil's brigade and touting, as the commercial markets would quote, bouyant.
