The second reading of the Manga* tu Empowering Bill was agreed tor: The Premier moved, * That Mr Guinness be Chairman of Committees, and that he be appointed a member of the Joint Standing Orders on Private Bills Committee, the Selection Committee, and the Joint Committee on Bills, in the place of W. L. Rees, resigned. The motion was agreed to. The District Courts Jurisdiction Extension Bill, passed by the Legislative Council, was read a first time. The Financial debate was then resumed.
