The Premier gave notice that he would move that Mr Guinness be appointed Chairman of Committees.
The following Bills were read a first time :— A Bill intituled an Act to enable the Trustees of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Asso ciation to dispose of certain lands vested in them by lottery, Technical Education Bill and Public Schools Bill, Labour Department Bill, Tenders Bill, Workmen's Wages Bill, and Conspiracy Law Amendment Bill. The rest rest of the sitting was occupied by the Financial debate.
