A Great Libel Case.

The case of Eichard Speight, late chairman of the Railway Commissioners, v. The Age newspaper, an action for libel began at Melbourne on June 1. The case will be in the nature of a State trial, and the whole railway policy for the past eight years will be reviewed. The hearing is expected to occupy a couple of months. It is stated that the costs of the defendants will amount fco £15,000.
