Edward Livermarsh, journalist, of San Francisco, who is being tried for murder at Santa Rosa, was hypnotised in Court, and re-enacted the crime in detail, to the astonishment of the Court. The defence is that he committed the crime while in ahj'pnotic condition. The King of the Belgians has de cided to open the Congo Free State to private enterprise. The A meer is still acting in an evasive manner, and Lord Roberts' mission is not likely to start for three months. Lieutenant Leary, who was the leader of the expedition recently rescued in Greenand, declares that it is possible to construct a railway any where on the ice in Greenland. Information has been received in Paris that the Dahomeyan prisoners assert that 200 Europeans are directing the operations against the French.
