Manawatu Rabbit Extermination Society.
The annual general meeting of the Manawatu Rabbit Sooiefcy was held at Oroua Downs, on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. There were present — Messrs F. Robinson (chairman), Hunter, D. Scott, Barber, Gifford, W. G. Hobinson, T. McKenzie, A. Amon, R. B. McKenzie, B. Gower, Dunk and J. R. McLennan (secretary ) The balance-sheet was read from which it showed that since 10th Oct, 1891, date of last meeting, the society had paid for 5698 skins at a cost of £84 15s 6d. The total receipts for the year had been £121 9s ! 4d and expenditure £91 2s 4d which leaves a balance at credit of the society of £30 7s. A defaulters list attached showed that there were nyt 14s unpaid rates due to the *°Thl' minutes of w la ! fc , mcct ' ing were then read and conml 0 ■ On the motion of Mr Barber, seconded by Mr K. B. McKenzie, it was resolved that last years committee be re-elected namely Messrs D. Scott, Hunter, Barber, Gifford, A. Amon, T. McKenzie and W.* G« Robinson, with Mr Dunk added. It was proposed by Mr R. B. Mckenzie, and seconded by Mr D. Scott, That the boundaries of the Rabbit district be extended across the Makahoi creek and take in about 400 acres of land belonging to Mr D. Fraser, as rabbits were known to exist there. — Carried. Mr T. McKenzie proposed, and Mr Hunter seconded, That six penes be offered for all skins with fore paws attached from date, and length of time so offered to be left in the hands of the committee. — Carried. It was resolved at next call to strike the same rate as before, namely, two shillings per hundred acres or part of a hundred acres. A ffcer some minor discussions the business concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chairman and Secretary.
