On "Wednesday the Payment of Members Bitl was introduced in committee by message from His Excellency the Governor, and read the i first time.
It was decided that the House meet on Mondays for the remainder i of the Session for Government business only, •The Friendly Societies Bill, the Manure Adulteration Bill, the Selectors Lands .Revaluation Bill, and the Westland Church, Hospital and School Vesting Bill were read a second time. The Land for , Settlements Bill was read a third time. The Oamaru Harbour Board Advance Repayment Bill passed through committee. The Native Land Purchase Bill was further considered. The New Zealand Company's Land Claimants Bill passed through committee. The Dairy Industry Bill was considered in committee. The Mining Companies Act Amendment Bill and the Local Bodies Loans Act Amendment Bill passed through committee. The Oamaru Harbour Board BilL the Ofcagc School Commissioners Bill, the New Zealand Company's Land Claimants Bill were put through final stages. The Westland and Nelson Goalfields Administration, 1887, Amendment Bill, was put through its final stages on Thursday. '1 he second reading of the Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884, Amendment Bill was read a second time. The second reading of the Westland and Nelson Coalfields Administration Act, 1887, Amendment Bill, (No 2.) was after some discussion carried on the voices. The second reading of the Gisborne Harbour Act, 1884, Amendment Bill was also passed. The second reading of the Cook and Waiapu Counties Property Adjustment Bill was carried. The Wellington Corporation and Harbour Board Streets and Lands Bill was read a second time without debate. The Waiorongomai Bridge Bill, the Wangarei Drillshed Bill, the Wanganui Trust Act, 1891, Amendment Bill, and the Woodville Hospital District Bill were read a second time. The Native Land Purchase Bill was after some discussion read, the third time and* passed. The Dairy Industry Bill and thtf Mining Companies Act Amendment Bill were put through their final stages. The Friendly Societies Act, 1882, Amendment Bill passed through committee without amendment. In committee on the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Bill clause 3 was amended by fixing £8000 aa the maximum amount to be lent to the trustees of a drainage district. The Water Supply Act Amendment Bill was passed through com* mittee with one or two slight verbal Amendments. In committeee on the Factories Act Amendment Bill, the amendments made by the Labour Bills Committee were agreed to. The four bills above mentioned were then read a third time and passed. The second reading of the Westland, Grey, Inanghua, and Buller, Counties Vehicle Licensing Bill, was agreed to on the .voices.
