News from Western Africa states that 4000 of King Dahomey's troops attacked the French forces at Dogba, losing 1000 killed. The French loss was only 6 killed, including two officers, and 10 wounded, although the natives fought desperately for several hours. A large quantity of gold coin and antique Roman vessels have been unearthed at Oraova, a town on an island in the Danube. Both Austria and Servia claim the ownership, though the town forms part of Servia. The Hoa Mr Blake, M.P., was feted by the citizens of Toronto, whither he has temporarily returned and presented with an address congratulating him on his election for an Irish constituency.
