The estimated damage at Tifcaville, Pennsylvania, amounts to a million and a half dollars, while each of the adjacent counties suffers to the extent of a million. Many persons are missing. Numbers are known to have perished through the burning oil floating on the flood waters. The towns of Embenton, Corry, and Meadville also suffered badly by the disaster. The storm water carried the burning petroleum from Oil City for 18 miles, and every bridge in its track was burned, besides which 15 villages were destroyed. Appaling scenes were witnessed, and great distress has been occassioned. Two hundred and ninety people were killed when the refineries were wrecked. The Fourteenth Hohenzollern with the Emperor William met the Czar at Kiel on June sth, the meeting being accompanied by a great demonstration. The interview between the two Emgerors appeared to be of a cordial nature.
